Principal's Message

Welcome to the Hoover School Website! I am so pleased that you have taken the time to learn about our school, a K-5 elementary school comprised of 200 students and a faculty and staff of approximately thirty. Hoover School is committed to excellence and is a learning community where every decision is based on the sole priority of doing what is best for our students. As principal of Hoover, I am honored to be in the company of such professional, dedicated and caring educators. Our teachers work collaboratively to provide a child-centered, rigorous curriculum which will foster the development of life-long learners read to take their places one day as responsible citizens of tomorrow. Our task is easier with the support of our Parents’ Association who generously and tirelessly works to facilitate our efforts with the children. School assemblies, teacher grants, and many student and family program offerings are indicative of the Parent Association’s great level of support. Working together, our faculty, staff, parents and extended school community continue to foster a safe, nurturing and engaging learning environment for our students.

Again, I thank you for taking the time to visit our site, and I encourage you to view our District’s web page as well for important information. Our site reflects well on school life in Bergenfield. As you do so, it will become clear to you that the great educational philosopher John Dewey’s words are epitomized at Hoover School. “Education is not preparation for life, education is life itself!”
